Sussex Scrapbook ~ Wildlife walks throughout the year
Green Man
Sunday 17th April 2011
Pulborough Brooks

A busy weekend left only a few short windows of opportunity for gadding about. One of these was early Sunday morning, which I used to blap down to RSPB PB on a Cuckoo and Nightingale hunt. As soon as I took my crash helmet off I could hear a Cuckoo and the first Nightingale started up its amazing song within sight of the visitors centre. Within five minutes I'd already spotted a Cuckoo flying over, and unbelievably for a bird that usually skulks invisibly in the thickest foliage, a Nightingale started up in full view at the top of a tree. What a result!
