Thorney Island - 7.5 miles

My left foot has been playing up again! I have Policeman's heel and it's bloomin' 'orrible. I've been doing the excerises with a ball under my foot and I've been stretching my calf but it's still giving me jip. We have a scout expedition to Snowdon in May and I'm worried that I may not be 'match fit' without strong painkillers and hobbling.
What we really needed was a simple walk with no hills to exercise my foot with minimum stress, so a circumnavigation of Thorney island was chosen. This was also a good distance away from home which meant the newly fixed up bike could also be tested out.
We picked a beautiful day for our walk and the tide was out the whole time we were there. We were able to do a large part of the walk along the sand instead of on the footpath and the whole walk was quiet and peaceful. The bike behaved perfectly and blasted us there and back at impressive speed but my foot was hurting by the end. More exercises and stretches for me :(

Take the time to read the countryside code for yourself and please stick to it at all times.
